The Bad Ass Mega Fun DLC pack will be available on both PSVR and PC platforms.
Yesterday marked the start of the long-running PAX West gaming expo in Seattle, Washington, kicking off four days of nonstop indie gaming. Among some of the opening day announcements were several reveals regarding Borderlands 2 VR.
Released December of last year exclusively on the PSVR, developer Gearbox confirmed at the expo that the VR adaptation will be making its way to PC at some point this autumn. We’ve yet to hear anything in regards to specific headsets, but with the standard Borderlands 2 experience already available for purchase on Steam, we imagine this version will be available on the platform as well.
In addition to a new platform release, the existing PSVR edition of the title will be receiving a major free update this September, bringing with it a generous amount of new DLC. According to Eurogamer, the release will include four new campaigns: Captain Scarlet and Her Pirate’s Booty, Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage, Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt, and Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Kee; three new player classes: Creature Slaughter Dome, the Mechromancer and Psycho; all five of the Headhunter DLC packs; both Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Packs; as well as the Vault Hunter Heads and Skin packs.
PSVR players will receive the free DLC later this week, while PC players can access the content at launch later this fall.
Borderlands 2 VR for PSVR received overall positive reviews after its launch this past December, offering players a faithful recreation of the Borderlands experience, albeit with several key adjustments designed to offer a more comfortable in-headset experience.
Until then you can pick up Borderlands 2 VR on PSVR for $49.99.
