Lock the doors and board the windows PC VR fans; Intruders: Hide and Seek is coming your way.
Tessera Studios’ creepy home invasion game originally released as a PSVR exclusive earlier this year. The game’s now listed on Steam for release on September 26 (Thursday!). It will launch with full support for the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Valve Index. Windows VR support isn’t listed, but we’d imagine it’ll work to some degree inside those headsets. The game can be played outside of VR too.
In Intruders you play as a young boy joining his family on a vacation trip to their country house. One night, however, three intruders slip into the building and take your mother and father captive. You have to rescue them by sneaking through various points of the house undetected. You’ll also need to keep your sister safe and healthy.
We played Intruders when it first released on PSVR. The game’s definitely on the creaky side in terms of production, but overall we found it to be surprisingly effective.
“Intruders is a welcome case of less is more,” we wrote. “It’s an engaging little short that largely keeps its ambitions in check with enjoyable if unremarkable sneaking. You likely won’t remember much about Intruders a week or two past playing it, but it keeps you hooked while it lasts. For a home invasion game, it’s perhaps just a little too safe.”
No word yet on if we’ll see the game on Quest, but we’ll keep an eye out for it all the same.
